Our hope for the 7th and 8th-grade students at Bethany is to provide a groundwork and solid foundation on which they can learn about and meet Christ. Jeremiah 29:11 states “'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'” His Word already lays out our path, but sometimes we don’t know how to follow it and trust in our Creator! Our hope at BluePrints is to help the students start that walk.

As stated in Hebrews 6:19, the Anchor of our souls is our hope in Christ. As we look around our world today, “Hope” is defined as simply a feeling that's housed in a doubt-based attitude. The truth is that our hope is firm and secure already because of the truth in Jesus and the promises of God. Our hope anchors us during the stormy seasons of life. We have been given an anchor for the soul, a lasting hope both steadfast and unshakable. All else is fleeting and changing, but Jesus remains the same (Hebrews 13:8).
As we meet together as high school students and as life begins to tilt our world upside down, where do we turn? Whom do we look towards? Where do we find that anchor? Our hope at Bethany is to show students the answers to those questions and even more, to allow a safe place for all to meet God, and create an unshakeable, life-withstanding foundation.

Growing up in Bethany Church, Pastor John now has the joy of being the Youth Pastor since 2016 leading students to life in Christ. With that chief desire comes the opportunity of loving on students, offering the same hope he was offered, and reinforcing the truth that God is calling EVERYONE to him.

Growing up in Bethany Church, Pastor John now has the joy of being the Youth Pastor since 2016 leading students to life in Christ. With that chief desire comes the opportunity of loving on students, offering the same hope he was offered, and reinforcing the truth that God is calling EVERYONE to him.
John experienced a chase from God while he spent many years running himself. He now points people back to God with the message, "God is running after you with open arms!!"
Loves: His beautiful wife and son, Bears football (forgivable), Cubs baseball, Bulls basketball, smoked meats, and community of friends and family!
